Basic Info
Name:Dr. James Evan Wilson
Bio
Personel File
Name: Dr. James Wilson
Original canon: House M.D.
Age: 38
Race: Human
Physical description: Wilson is 6' tall with thick brown hair and an average build. He's in fine health, but his job keeps him away from hard physical tasks and as he's gotten older, he's put on a little weight. He tends to dress in button down shirts with ties and slacks, and generally looks like he works too much and doesn't sleep enough.

Job: Dr. James Wilson is the head of wetworks and cybernetics, specializing in rejection and complications at New Tokyo General. Anyone with implants, neural enhancers, chipjacks, or other enhancements (that are legitimate) eventually comes through his department. Every few years the corps design upgrades, so his position is taxing as he has to keep up with the R&D and implementation. However, resources on Miranda are limited and the implants and complications that might be simple to install and maintain (and treat) on the more central worlds are still not treatable in this system.

Wealth: One might think Wilson would have quite a bit of money, and if it wasn't for supporting three ex-wives and paying for medical malpractice insurance, he would. Instead, he lives on a meager amount of take home pay and has little to no social life.

Living Situation: Wilson has a small, two bedroom apartment that is technically in New Tokyo, however it's actually in the less expensive fringe on the edge of Siam. He relies on public transit, and often simply stays in his office..
Background
James Wilson was born to an upper-middle class family, the son of Daniel and Anne Wilson and the youngest of three boys. He grew up in Tifton not all that far away from New Tokyo, where he later attended school and now works. The Wilsons wanted the best for their children, and they never failed to provide it - a nice house in a good neighborhood, the best education, and the respect of their neighbors and peers. However, Daniel and Anne also wanted the best from their children, and the ways they went about it didn't always coincide with the "perfect family" image they presented to others. The Wilson household was a strict household, and it was all the boys - Daniel Jr., Adam, and James - could do to keep up with their parents' expectations. It was particularly hard on the younger sons, and James became an over-achiever at a very early age, desperate for his parents' love and attention—which none of the children ever got. They only had the appearance of it, and James was extremely young when he grasped that the only thing that mattered were how things looked. A high mark in astrophysics was a high mark in astrophysics...even if it was Danny's work that he only tweaked.

Wilson graduated high school at the top of his class and went on to complete his undergraduate studies at City Collegiate Complex before moving onto New Tokyo University , already certain of what he wanted to do with his life since he had watched his brother, Adam, suffer a terrible rejection of the neural implants he'd gotten when he went to school. By the time Wilson finished his fellowship at Oublie Clinic at the age of thirty, three things had occurred - he was offered a job at New Tokyo General, he divorced his first wife after she caught him cheating, and his family fell completely apart. His elder brother, Adam, had a falling-out with their parents after too many years of pressure. He was menataly unstable to begin with, but after the final argument, Adam escaped into a virtual world of his own design where he could do no wrong and had the unconditional love of both parents. He became so addicted to the fantasy that he ceased to function in the real world. Wilson was aware of his brother's addiction and visited him often, first in his apartment in New Tokyo, then in rehab, then in Siam. He continually went back, trying to be for Adam what their parents weren't, trying to be what Adam was addicted to instead of that damned VR. Unfortunately, his job became more and more demanding and Wilson drifted away from Adam, getting the acceptance he craved from his patients, lovers, and co-workers. The last time Wilson saw Adam was seventeen years ago, when he failed to get his jack-addicted, paranoid brother to come home. Since that moment, Wilson has been practically silent about his issues with his family.

Wilson is still at NTG, a member of the hospital Board and a very young head of is the head of Wetworks and Cybernetics, specializing in rejection and complications. He has a reputation as a flirt and a womanizer, aided by his divorces from his second and third wives, as well as the rumors spread for fun by his best friend Greg House. He met House at university. Wilson had gone straight out of High School, but House had to postpone his education due to his financial situation. Always one to take advantage of an opportunity to keep his appearance of academic excellence in a good light, Wilson found an opposite, an addict, and a friend in House. What he couldn't do for or give to Adam, he became for House. He enables House's addiction while simultaneously trying to 'save' him from it. All the while, he excels at trying to make a difference for people with implant complications, people who are grateful for his intervention. People who thank him, respect him, and appreciate him..
Personality

James Wilson is all about appearances. He's the perfect sidekick - kind, supportive, and never lacking in advice or banter. People who believe that don't know him well, though. Wilson forever strives to uphold his "good guy" image. He keeps every gift given to him by his patients; he is always willing to lend an ear or a helping hand; and he's courteous to all those he meets. It's easy to believe, when you him, that he's the perfect man, but don't be fooled. James Wilson is a man with many skeletons in his closet. He recently divorced his third wife, for cheating on him...something he'd done to his previous two wives. His issues with his family are so severe that he almost never talks about them, not even with his best friend. And his professional status and public appearance hold top-spots on his list of concerns. Despite his own problems, he seems to fancy himself a bit of an armchair psychologist, analyzing others (House in particular) perhaps in an attempt to convince himself that he is well-adjusted in comparison.

To say that Wilson is a bad person would be stretching it, but he's certainly not all he appears to be, despite insisting otherwise. He is very loving; indeed, one could say he loves too much (or too many, too often). He is also capable of being extremely manipulative, the two characteristics often going hand-in-hand. Wilson loves to be loved, needs to be needed, and he genuinely does care, but not so much that he'll avoid hurting anyone in his path. It's only once you get to know him that you find out how toxic he can be. Wilson is equal parts compassionate and apathetic, very intelligent and charming, manipulative and accommodating.
